Serenade #1 in D [orch.] Op.11 (1857-8). .. Mertz' Opern Revue is a set of 33 opera arrangements for solo guitar, some of which are well-known. And this was precisely the main source of the multiple disappointments of this inventor, who had become used to challenge. Two harps now join the orchestra which give a ringing shine to the music, the music, of course, being a waltz, a charming, whirling French waltz. Before arriving in the French capital, Berlioz had never heard an orchestra or an opera, never encountered the work of any important composer.

Henri Klickmann (1885 - 1966) also wrote, Floatin' Down to Cotton Town in 1919 with Jack Frost and Waters of The Perkiomen in 1935. Lacking money as a composer he took up musical criticism and journalism, work he hated but he had a very varied literary style. His mastery of all the complexities of the Baroque style is evident in all his works. Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901) was a prolific Italian opera composer, most famous for his choirs in operas. She continued living with her family in the Detroit area at least through the early 1930s and apparently never married.
